  • WHAT ARE REALISTIC RESULTS FOR JET PLASMA?
It is important to understand that the skin will continue to improve as high levels of collagen regenerate over the next several months. Results will vary from person to person depending on many factors, such as, skin condition & sun damage. Proper skincare & sunscreen will help prolong the longevity of results. Our skin health depends on age, health, lifestyle factors, sun exposure, etc. You will work closely with your esthetician team to help you plan out your customized Jet Plasma Pro treatment series & skincare. We recommend a series of 8 treatments for optimal results with maintenance treatments, as needed. Before, during & after pictures will be taken to help review and chart your skincare course.
  • HOW ARE JET PLASMA PRO SERIES TREATMENTS SCHEDULED?
As with most skincare treatments, a series is recommended for best results. For Jet Plasma Pro, a series of 8 is ideal. Your first three Jet Plasma Pro treatments must be completed within 2 weeks, the first two within 48 hours of each other. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, so you get the very best results. Our front desk associates & clinical skincare team will do the best we can to work with your schedule. After those first 3 treatments, your appointments can be scheduled 1 week apart.
  • HOW DO I PREPAIR FOR A JET PLASMA TREAMTMENT?
Before receiving a Jet Plasma Pro treatment, please remove all jewelry within the treatment area. Avoid sun & extreme heat exposure during your treatment series.
  • HOW DOES THE JET PLASMA TREATMENT FEEL?
The Jet Plasma Pro treatment may feel slightly warm in some places. You may smell the ozone & hear a sparkling or snapping sound. Most clients feel very comfortable & rested after their Jet Plasma Pro Treatment.
  • WHAT IS MY AFTERCARE WITH JET PLASMA?
Once your Jet Plasma Pro treatment is performed, relax & do not do anything for the rest of the day. After a Jet Plasma Pro treatment, you will apply nothing except for what is applied to your skin for 12 hours after your treatment. Do not apply any makeup for 12 hours after your treatment. Avoid exercise, sauna & steam for 12 hours. Immediately after your Jet Plasma Pro treatment, the skin channels are open, so it's extremely beneficial to use skincare products that are highly active & will further improve the skin as they penetrate deep into your skin. You will receive a personalized skincare plan & recommended products to enhance your treatment.
  • CAN JET PLASMA BE PAIRED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Jet Plasma Pro is non-invasive & plays very well with other treatments. Be sure to check with your clinical esthetician team. If you get Botox or Filler, you MUST wait 2 weeks after the injection before receiving a Jet Plasma Pro treatment. We recommend that you complete at least one Jet Plasma Pro SkinCamp Series & wait 14 days before Microneedling, IPL & Laser Treatments. This gives the skin a chance to properly react to the Jet Plasma. It is always a good idea to combine various procedures over a period to achieve maximum results. Think of it as going to “skin” gym.
  • WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR JET PLASMA TREATMENTS?
    * Pregnancy * Pacemaker * Hypersensitivity * Implanted neurostimulator * Electric implanted device * Implanted slow medication release * Heart Conditions - advise treating physician first. * Cancer - advise treating physician first * Immune disorders like Lupus, Vitiligo & Alopecia - advise treating physician first. * Any suspicious looking skin disorder - advise treating physician first. * Open wounds & lesions * Active herpes * Epilepsy * Sunburn * Unreal procedure expectations * Under the age of 18 without parental consent
  • HOW DO I SCHEDULE & FILL FORMS FOR JET PLASMA TREATMENTS?
treatment series. The series will be initiated at your first visit. Please be sure to fill out the online forms associated with the Jet Plasma Pro treatment before your first appointment. Our front desk associates will be happy to help navigate your schedule with you. To make the treatment appointment process go smoothly for your personal schedule, you may be booked with our highly skilled, clinical esthetician skincare team (Katrina, Emily & Lara) who will work in tandem to enhance your skincare results.
  • WHAT IS THE SCIENCE BEHIND JET PLASMA?
Plasma is generated when the atmospheric gas between the plasma pen tip & the skin is ionized creating a small electrical arc, which is used to treat the problem areas without unwanted damage to the surrounding tissues. While other treatments claim to be Jet Plasma, they may only minimally affect the epidermis. Jet Plasma penetrates to the deeper dermal layers, where the real work happens. This is where your fibroblast cells begin producing collagen. Jet Plasma also increases the absorption rate of products applied to the skin following the treatment, allowing them to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. Jet Plasma Pro is the most advanced, revolutionary plasma technology available to brighten & tighten skin, shrink pores, reduce hyperpigmentation & promote high levels of collagen regeneration. The device features both Jet & Cold Plasma for the best results at lower temperatures. It works by contracting & tightening the fibers inside of your skin, stimulates collagen & fibroblast activity, & remodels the skin from the inside out.
  • WHAT IS FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING?
Fractional skin resurfacing is a way of treating only a fraction of the skin in a single session. This reduces thermal injury without degrading the outcome of the process. Unlike laser resurfacing, which ablates the uppermost layers of the skin, radiofrequency fractional skin resurfacing works by sending powerful energy beneath the surface, where collagen and elastin production takes place. Fractional skin resurfacing is performed to correct several cosmetic and dermatologic concerns. These include acne scars and other types of scars, enlarged pores, lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, uneven skin texture and tone, dyschromia, and rosacea.
  • WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR LASER SKIN RESURFACING?
Because our skin resurfacing treatment involves radiofrequency, it is suitable for nearly all skin types. Ideal candidates are interested in improving their skin’s appearance and understand what can be achieved with resurfacing. Our staff discusses how many treatments may be needed to achieve each patient’s desired outcome. It is important to inform your provider if you are pregnant or nursing, have diabetes, are immunocompromised, have a history of skin disorders, or have an internal pacemaker or another type of electrical implant. Resurfacing should not be performed over tattoos or on excessively tanned skin.
  • HOW OFTEN CAN I GET FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENTS?
We schedule Fractional RF treatments about every 4 weeks. This keeps the stimulation to fibroblast cells consistent, promoting the ongoing production of collagen for better results over time. Patients typically schedule 3 to 4 treatment sessions to see meaningful, lasting results.
  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST TREATMENT?
Before your resurfacing treatment, your provider may apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area. This does not completely numb all sensations but minimizes the nerve response to the tiny microneedles and deposit of radiofrequency energy. If a numbing cream is applied, it takes approximately 30 minutes to work. After that time, your skin will be cleaned, and the small handpiece will be used to stamp the skin in a uniform manner. The process can take 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area being treated.
  • WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENTS?
After the first session, the body begins producing more collagen and elastin. It takes time, however, to see the effects of this process. Usually, improvements begin to appear after the second treatment session. They continue to improve as treatments are repeated and new collagen rebuilds the skin’s foundation.
  • WHAT DOES RECOVERY FROM FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING LOOK LIKE?
The skin will be warm and red after fractional skin resurfacing, similar to a sunburn. If warmth feels intense, it can be reduced with cool air, like fanning the skin. This sensation typically resolves in 24 hours. During this time, you should only use products approved or prescribed by your provider. After 24 hours, normal skincare may resume. Sunscreen with SPF 30 should be worn daily. Makeup can be applied at this time, as well. All tanning should be avoided for at least 2 days after RF skin resurfacing. Your provider may advise you to avoid all tanning throughout the course of your treatment sessions. Hot baths, massages, and rigorous exercise can resume after 48 hours.
  • IS LASER SKIN RESURFACING PAINFUL?
The use of topical numbing cream may be requested if you are concerned about discomfort. The microneedles used to deposit RF energy are about the size of a single strand of hair. The RF energy is delivered in quick pulses that may feel like a zap that lasts only a moment. Because radiofrequency waves transform to heat in the dermis, the treatment area will begin to feel warm like a sunburn. Patients describe this treatment as very tolerable.
  • WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF LASER SKIN RESURFACING?
The Venus VersaTM system is used for the majority of our resurfacing treatments. This is not the same as laser skin resurfacing. RF energy permeates the surface of the skin, it does not vaporize it in the way that laser energy does. Therefore, radiofrequency skin resurfacing is generally considered very safe and effective for most skin tones, even on the darker side.
  • WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is a professional, minimally invasive treatment that is performed to provoke collagen production. It is a unique method of skin rejuvenation that stimulates a healing response in the body by creating numerous tiny channels that reach about 3 millimeters beneath the epidermis. This depth is shallow enough to be comfortable and significant enough to trigger an influx of healing collagen and elastin. Microneedling will help you achieve a healthier, smoother, and brighter complexion. A wonderful treatment for improving fine lines, scarring, stretch marks, and retexturing of the skin. It can be performed almost everywhere on the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and back. All skin types can benefit from microneedling treatments.
  • HOW DOES MICRONEEDLING WORK?
After hundreds of micro-channels are made in the deeper layers of the skin, they fill with blood, nutrients, liquid scar tissue, and lymphatic fluid. This mixture is the base material from which healthy new skin cells are made. These new cells have a generous dose of collagen, the protein that makes tissue smooth and firm. They also have elastin, the chemical that allows the skin to stretch.
  • IS MICRONEEDLING SAFE?
Microneedling is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate the skin. This technique achieves the best results when performed in the clinical setting by a trained professional. We use the latest microneedling device that penetrates the skin in a uniform, mechanized manner that does not tear or abrade the epidermis.
  • AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS?
Many adults are great candidates for microneedling treatments. This technique is a good solution for people who want a nonsurgical, drug-free approach to treating concerns such as: · Mild to moderate lines and wrinkles · Uneven skin texture or roughness · Mild to moderate skin looseness · Sun damage · Stretch marks · Uneven skin tone · Acne scars or other scarring
  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRONEEDLING?
There are several reasons why microneedling is a popular treatment. Patients appreciate that they do not need anesthesia or downtime to recover from their skin-boosting procedure. Microneedling works in conjunction with the body’s natural processes to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out. Results can last several months due to the increase in collagen and elastin to support the skin. The procedure takes less than an hour and is made comfortable with a topical numbing cream applied prior to treatment. There isn’t much not to love about microneedling!
  • WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR A MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?
It is important to avoid situations that can increase the skin’s sensitivity before microneedling. Starting about one week before a microneedling appointment, clients should avoid: · Anti-inflammatory medications · Chemical or laser treatments · Tanning · Blood-thinning medications such as aspirin · Topical products that may make the skin sensitive, such as glycolic acid or Retin-A · Clients should be off Accutane for six months before undergoing microneedling · Clients prone to cold sores may need to take an anti-viral medication beginning a few days before treatment.
  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO SEE RESULTS FROM MY MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?
Most patients see results after the first microneedling treatment. Individual results vary depending on individual skin health. It is most common to begin to see true changes or positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment. Many patients comment on positive changes in even less time. Often, change is noted within just a few days.
  • HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Microneedling produces results through the stimulation of growth factors and collagen, thereby promoting new skin cells to surface. As our skin ages, our collagen production naturally slows down. Your overall result will last longer when using an at-home skincare regimen that includes a daily Retinoid product, which your medical esthetician will recommend specifically for you and your skin. New collagen and elastin formation in the skin are documented as visually and measurably improved as much as one year after just one treatment. However, a series of treatments is typically recommended for the best results.
  • WHAT IS THE MICRONEEDLING AFTER-CARE?
Clients can expect some redness and possibly small pinpoints of bleeding during the first day after microneedling treatment. By the following day, the minor inflammation stimulated by treatment usually fades to slight redness that resembles a sunburn. The skin may feel tight and dry. To promote optimal tissue regeneration, experts recommend: · Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen for one week after microneedling. We want the skin to go through its inflammatory response to rebuild collagen and elastin fibers. · Avoid using retinoids, vitamin C, and glycolic or alpha-hydroxy acids for a few days. · Avoid sun exposure for a few days after microneedling. · Keep the skin clean and moisturized as instructed by the provider.
  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS?
This treatment is not considered a one-and-done procedure. The skin will always need collagen and elastin, so it is necessary to attend to that need with some form of stimulating treatment. Microneedling can be performed every 2 to 4 weeks for a series of up to 6 treatments to get an initial boost of rejuvenation. After that time, treatments can be scheduled as needed for each individual.
  • WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER MY MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?
Microneedling is considered a low downtime treatment. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will look slightly pink to moderately red with possible pinpoint bleeding. Your Medical Esthetician will recommend an individualized post-care regimen of skincare products which will greatly minimize these symptoms and enhance your overall results.
  • CAN I USE MAKEUP AFTER HAVING MY MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?
Directly after your treatment, we recommend using only Jane Iredale mineral-based cosmetic products. The brand as a whole contains only skin-loving ingredients and therefore is gentle enough to use on freshly-treated healing skin. If you wish to, you may return to using your normal foundation after a minimum of 4 days post-treatment. Please note: Our team strongly encourages clients to use Jane Iredale products throughout the entire course of treatment.
  • WILL THE MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE HURT?
Prior to your treatment with the microneedling pen, the medical provider will apply a topical numbing agent. Most people say they feel almost nothing when numbing cream is used.
  • IN WHAT ORDER SHOULD I APPLY MY SKIN CARE PRODUCTS?
We recommend that you always start by removing your makeup with a "Double Cleanse." The First Cleanse, is a cleanser or cleansing oil that removes your makeup or “the day.” The Second Cleanse is usually a medicated cleanser or cleanser that addresses your skin care concerns. (ie. acne, inflammation or anti-aging.) Next, you would use a toner or medicated tonic, serums, eye cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen. The order in which you apply your products is important. You want a clean, balanced skin before applying your serums, clinical &/or prescription skin care. Adding an eye cream &/or moisturizer will help seal and protect your skin. And lastly, but just as important, an SPF to protect your skin from burning and sun-damage.
  • CAN I USE DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS ON MY SKIN?
We do not recommend over the counter skin care products. Because of the nature of skincare that we provide, we recommend clinical and medical grade skincare that contain more active ingredients.
  • OIL FREE OR PLASTIC FREE?
What a great, magnificent question! Definitely, hands down plastic free. Hidden plastics and waxes can stick your skin cells together and keep them from turning over properly. These sluggish skin cells may lead to skin cell build up causing acne and texture issues. Oils are naturally found on our skin and are secreted by the pores to protect and hydrate the skin. Try to stick with linoleic oils that are not too large in size, as larger molecular weight oils may also clog your pores. Linoliec oils provides moisture, protection and plumpness to the skin and are natural antioxidants. Big Yum!
  • DO I NEED TO APPLY SPF DAILY?
YES. Applying a SPF to your skin daily will be a wonderful, helpful practice. SPF helps protect your skin from UVA and UVB damage. Sun damage is the biggest contributor to sunspots, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, and skin cancers. Whether you are inside, outside or driving in your car you may be exposed to UVA/UVB rays from indirect sunlight through windows and even on cloudy days. Please see your Dermatologist for skin cancer screenings.
  • WILL WEARING MAKEUP DAILY CAUSE ACNE OR AGE MY SKIN?
Yes and No. What? Having clean skin before bed is very beneficial, when you are sleeping your body does a lot of its healing. It will also depend on your makeup and your skin type. Thick, heavy formulations laden with synthetic chemicals can stress your skin and tends to clog pores while sticking skin cells together. If you use makeup with healthier ingredients, like mineral makeup, it may even protect your skin with natural SPF and help with inflammation. We recommend, sell and love Jane Iredale mineral makeup. On a side note, some people are allergic to ingredients in any kind of makeup and the type of makeup you wear will have to vary. Which leads us back to a good cleansing routine before bed.
  • CAN I HELP IMPROVE MY ACNE?

  • IS IT OK TO POP MY PIMPLES?
Going to have to say no to this one. Sometimes popping pimples can cause bacteria to spread and make acne worse. You may also damage the skin causing it to heal slower, form post inflammation pigment and even scaring. Estheticians are trained to perform manual methods to clear the pores. We are also trained to identify which lesions to safely extract and which to leave alone. Sometimes leaving something alone is a saving grace to faster healing. Let us help you address those pesky pimples.
  • HOW CAN I QUICKLY HEAL MY ACNE BREAKOUT?
Got a pesky breakout that pops up before a special occasion, that time of the month, during sporting events or one that just will not go away?!!!! Wash your skin with a salicylic, mandelic & / or lactic based cleanser to help soften clogged pores. Apply ice directly to your skin, keep moving over the affected area as not to freeze the area. The ice will kill the p. acnes bacteria on contact, take down inflammation and increase healing time. Appling colloidal silver w/ lemon balm can help control oil and bacteria. Spot treating a pimple with a time released benzoyl peroxide will also be helpful in reducing your acne flair. Be careful, as some benzoyl peroxides can over dry and irritate the skin. Hyaluronic Acid will hydrate and protect the skin without clogging pores.
  • HOW DO I CORRECT SUNDAMAGE AND SUNSPOTS?
We are a big fan of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments for bringing up unwanted pigment and reducing ruptured veins. It is a great way to reboot your skin back to a creamy healthy glow. In addition to IPL treatments, chemical peels such as RevePeel and Enlighten Peel RX are excellent at skin rejuvenation, as well as reducing melasma and sun damage.
  • HOW CAN I AVOID WRINKLES?
THAT IS THE MILLIAN DOLLAR QUESTION! Wrinkles are a natural part of aging and show years of wisdom. If this is not your ideal way of showing off your well-deserved wisdom here are some helpful hints. Lifestyle factors play a major role in keeping your skin healthy. A diet that consists of vitamin rich foods, drinking at least the recommended 8oz. of water a day, protecting your skin from the sun or limiting sun exposure, not smoking and stress management will all play apart in keeping your skin healthy. Using topical skincare like retinoids, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C will also boost your skin ability to stave off the onset of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • HOW DO I GET RID OF WRINKLES?
Investing in advanced skin treatments is an extremely beneficial way of improving photodamage, skin texture and elasticity. There are a wide variety of Lasers, Viva Fractional Resurfacing, SkinPen Micro-needling, and Cosmetical Peel treatments that will resurface skin and increase collagen and elasticity.
  • IF I SHAVE MY HAIR, WILL I CAUSE THICKER OR MORE HAIR GROWTH?
No, do not worry you have not increased your hair growth. Shaving facial or body hair creates a blunt cut making the hair follicle feel coarse and seem thicker as it continues to grow out. Your hair growth amount and texture are determined by your genetics, so don't beat yourself up because you shaved your arms or upper lip when you were 12.
  • DOES LASER OR IPL HAIR REMOVAL REALLY WORK?
Thank the moon and the stars above, Yes! Hair removal from a destroyed hair follicle is permanent. Hair removal Lasers and IPL have been used since 1995 and have been approved by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. You will receive personal results, if your technician safely understands the mechanism of hair growth and how Laser & IPL devices work to target the hair follicle.
  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS DOES IT TAKE FOR LASER OR IPL HAIR REMOVAL?
Everyone is an individual with different genetics determining the amount of hair growth and when that hair will grow. You can only damage and kill a hair follicle when the hair is actively growing and rooted. For this reason, an average of eight treatments with varying follow up treatments are recommended. We will work closely with you, charting out your growth cycles so we can help achieve your desired results. The joys of hair removal are life changing for many people.
  • WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
With laser hair removal treatments, you can expect significant permanent hair reduction to the point that temporary hair removal methods are seldom, if ever, are necessary. However, due to hormonal changes, hair color and skin tone, some clients may need a few additional treatments in order to achieve their personal level of desired results.
  • HOW DO I START THE LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS?
Ask to speak with our specialist regarding your permanent hair reduction needs. All of your questions regarding the laser hair removal procedure will be answered, and you will be ready to start enjoying the freedom of smooth skin.
  • WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN BE TREATED?
Almost any area affected by hair growth can be treated.
  • I’VE NEVER DONE LASER HAIR REMOVAL BEFORE; IS IT SAFE?
Laser hair removal is safe and effective. You may feel slight discomfort during the procedure, but this can be minimized by using a topical anesthetic prior to treatment, as well as relying on your medically trained clinician, who is a laser hair removal specialist, to guide you through the process.
  • HOW TO DETERMINE MY SKIN TYPEFOR MY LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS?
Our qualified laser hair removal specialists can help you determine your skin type.
  • HOW MUCH DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL COST?
Laser hair removal pricing varies, depending on the number of treatment packages that are purchased, as well as the body parts that each client wishes to treat. For detailed laser hair removal pricing information, please view the list below or contact our laser hair removal specialists.
  • HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Laser energy can affect tissue in several ways. This depends on the wavelengths that are directed toward the skin. Laser hair removal sends particular wavelengths into hundreds of hair follicles in a single pulse. The light that enters each hair follicle, vaporizes strands of hair and then transfers to the follicle walls as heat. This thermal energy disables the affected length of the hair follicle. For this transfer to take place, hair must have pigment (color).
  • IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL EFFECTIVE FOR ALL SKIN TYPES?
The way that laser hair removal works is by targeting the pigment in strands of hair. Historically, when skin color and hair color have been too similar, laser hair removal wouldn’t work. Advances in laser technology have increased our ability to remove lighter hair colors and darker hair on darker skin. However, there are still limitations. People with very dark skin may not be good candidates for laser treatment due to the risk of burns.
  • AM I A CANDIDATE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Most people can be good candidates for laser hair removal, keeping in mind that results may be achieved more quickly when there is a contrast between hair and skin color. Newer laser devices have worked well on adults with a wider range of complexions. If you have darker skin, schedule a consultation to see if the latest laser technology would be suitable for you. Even with improvements to laser devices, this treatment still cannot be performed on very light blonde or gray hair due to the lack of pigment.
  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Hair growth is cyclical, with small increments of hair growing at a time. Active hair growth alternates with resting phases. Laser only targets hair that is in the follicles at the time of treatment, so several sessions are necessary to address the entirety of the active hair growth cycle as it occurs over time. After the first laser hair removal treatment, patients can enjoy smoother skin with less hair growth. Some hair growth can be expected before the subsequent treatment. This decreases after each session. To fully disable hair follicles can take between 6 and 12 treatment sessions, scheduled several weeks apart.
  • LASER HAIR REMOVAL VS. WAXING?
Waxing has been a popular method of hair removal for several years. This treatment consists of applying warm wax to the skin, then applying a thin strip of tissue over the wax. This causes numerous hairs to stick to the tissue so, when the tissue is then removed in a swift motion, all “trapped” strands of hair are extracted from their follicles. Waxing is an amplification of plucking. It achieves results that can last weeks but do not change the pattern of hair growth. Laser hair removal disables follicles and vaporizes hair. It does not pull strands of hair from their follicles and therefore is able to achieve results that can last many years.
  • HOW LONG WILL EACH TREATMENT TAKE?
Treatment time is determined by the size of the area needing hair removal. A small area such as the lip or underarms may take no more than 10 to 15 minutes. Larger areas like the legs or the back may take more than half an hour. Some people like treating multiple areas in each session, which increases their overall appointment time. Your provider will discuss this detail of your treatment with you during your consultation so you can plan accordingly.
  • ARE THERE LASER HAIR REMOVAL SIDE EFFECTS?
There are a few common side effects that may occur after each laser hair removal session. Often, people notice that their side effects lessen with each subsequent treatment. · Pink or red skin and itching. This is similar to having a sunburn and is usually gone within 24 hours. These side effects can be managed by applying cool compresses for a few minutes at a time. · Shedding. The hairs that are in the active growth phase during a laser hair removal session may be shed sometime after treatment. This may look like stubble or blackheads. Skin exfoliation can help the shedding process go more quickly. · Regrowth. In between each laser treatment, new hairs will enter the follicles during their active phase. These hairs can be shaved. Waxing and other methods that pull hairs from their follicles should be strictly avoided.
  • WHAT NOT TO DO AFTER A LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT.
We provide you with pre- and post-treatment instructions to help your process go smoothly. Generally, clients should avoid tanning and UV exposure after their treatments, as their skin will be more sensitive and vulnerable to photodamage. Laser procedures besides laser hair removal should also be avoided in the same area that is being treated.
  • WHAT IS THE LASER HAIR REMOVAL RECOVERY TIME?
There is no recovery time associated with laser hair removal. If the skin feels uncomfortably hot or tingly, cool compresses can be applied. Some people like to take a cool shower to soothe the skin. Within 24 hours, the minor irritation from the laser treatment should be sufficiently resolved to resume all normal activities comfortably.
  • IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PAINFUL?
No. Laser hair removal does deposit light into hair follicles, which transfers to heat in the tissue. However, this is generally felt as a mild snap or sting at the time of treatment. These are momentary sensations that are replaced by general warming when treatment is complete.
  • HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO SCHEDULE A LASER HAIR REMOVAL APPOINTMENT?
Hair growth is cyclical with small increments of hair growing at a time. The FDA states that it takes anywhere from 8 to 12 treatment sessions due to hormonal hair growth and heritage. Our laser technician will chart out your personal hair growth and work with you to come in at the best time during your growth period.
  • DO YOU HAVE TO BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR OR NURSE PRACTITIONER BEFORE STARTING LASER OR IPL TREATMENTS IN NORTH CAROLINA?
Yes. It is required by North Carolina law to be cleared for Laser or IPL before we do any treatment. Our Nurse Practitioner or Dr. will ensure that you are medically fit and do not have any conditions that would not allow you to get laser treatments done. This will only be about a fifteen minute appointment.
  • WHAT IS NEUROTRIS MICROCURRENT FACIAL TONING?
Microcurrent facials are not new (Jennifer Aniston has been getting them for years) but they are newly popular. This noninvasive treatment tones and tightens not only the skin but the underlying muscle by delivering low-level currents of electricity that mimic the body’s natural electrical current - the same current that makes your heart beat and your lungs breathe. Since the body is already familiar with this type of energy, it readily accepts microcurrent treatments. The low-level electricity delivered during microcurrent treatments triggers chemical reactions in the cells beneath the skin. These sleepy cells are stimulated to produce more ATP, cellular energy, collagen, and elastin. The increase in circulation and cellular activity re-educates the muscles so they become firmer, smoother, and more contoured. This stimulation also softens surface lines and wrinkles. That's why microcurrent facial toning is often described as "yoga for your face."
  • WHAT CONDITIONS DOES MICROCURRENT FACIAL TONING TREAT?
Being a stimulating technology, microcurrent can be used for several improvements. It works to promote the natural regeneration of the skin. As such, microcurrent can: · Improve the muscle tone on the face and neck · Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds · Improve circulation through the skin to promote tissue regeneration · Lift the jowls and eyebrows · Assist with natural lymphatic drainage from the face and neck · Promote cellular renewal that reduces acne and skin irritation · Improve tissue elasticity and firmness
  • IS MICROCURRENT FACIAL TONING SAFE?
Microcurrent technology has been around since the 1800s. It has been widely used in physical therapy and as a treatment for Bell’s palsy. In fact, it was during such a treatment that a physician noticed patients' faces looked smoother and younger than they did before treatments had begun. Since then, the microcurrent facial has become a mainstay in aesthetic medicine. Don't worry - the energy emitted from the microcurrent device is so subtle that it would take one million times that amount of energy to light a 40-watt light bulb.
  • HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
Microcurrent facial toning maybe a workout for the face but it’s relaxing for you. During the treatment, the technician will be applying a peptide gel to feed the skin and aid in conductivity. Two metal prongs are used to administer electrical pulses of microcurrent energy to the face. The prongs communicate with one another and are moved in a particular way to help the muscles tone in their natural, lifted contours. This process is repeated throughout the treatment, moving from one part of the face to another until the entire area has been treated. During the procedure, you may feel slight stimulation like tiny zaps, "tingles" or warmth. Every person may feel the energetic reaction in their skin a little differently. None describe it as painful, but if you do experience any discomfort, your technician can adjust the microcurrent device settings to your comfort levels. When the prongs are moved near the cheeks and mouth, it's very common to experience a metallic taste in your mouth.
  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MICROCURRENT FACIAL TREATMENTS?
Getting one microcurrent treatment would be like going to the gym once and expecting lasting results. It is important to approach microcurrent treatments with this in mind so you understand why your provider will recommend a series of sessions. Most people need approximately 12 sessions in total to achieve truly dramatic results. These are conducted as one to two sessions a week for a few weeks and then tapering to one treatment a week for the duration of the treatment plan. Each client's situation is unique, so your provider will develop a plan for your particular needs. After the initial series of weekly microcurrent sessions, touch-ups can be performed as often as once a month, or even every 3 months depending on your desired results.
  • WHAT OTHER TREATMENTS CAN BE COMBINED WITH MICROCURRENT FACIAL TONING?
Combining procedures is a great way to enhance the outcome of any beauty treatment. Microcurrent facial toning may be combined with resurfacing treatments like chemical peels, dermaplaning, and other techniques that address various concerns. Your provider can develop a personalized treatment plan based on your skin and your desired improvements.
  • WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skincare treatment that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently exfoliate the skin's surface. During the procedure, the trained practitioner will carefully scrape the skin using light, feathering strokes, removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (commonly referred to as "peach fuzz"). This exfoliation process aims to reveal smoother, brighter skin by getting rid of the top layer of dead skin cells and the fine hair that can trap dirt and oil. The result is typically a rejuvenated complexion and a smoother texture. Dermaplaning is often considered a safe and effective exfoliation method and can be performed as a standalone treatment or in combination with other skincare procedures. It is commonly sought for its ability to promote better absorption of skincare products and the application of makeup, leaving the skin looking more radiant and fresh.
  • IS DERMAPLANING BETTER THAN SHAVING?
Dermaplaning is absolutely better than shaving using a normal razor. The straight-edge scalpel and technique used in the clinical setting achieve several benefits, including: Removing fine hair and dead surface cells that trap dirt and oil on the epidermis. This reveals ultra-smooth, glowing skin. Without the obstacle of dirt, oil, and dead skin cells, products are better able to penetrate the epidermis and absorb into the deeper layers of tissue where they can make a difference in the appearance of the skin. Makeup goes on more smoothly when there is no vellus hair or old skin cells causing a rough surface. Dermaplaning can be performed on any skin type. The effects of skin renewal include softened fine lines and a more even skin tone.
  • IS DERMAPLANING RIGHT FOR ME?
Many people seek dermaplaning treatment to reduce existing concerns such as dull complexion and fine lines. Some undergo dermaplaning as a way to prevent premature aging. Dermaplaning may be right for you if you have: Fine lines Rough skin texture Acne scars Uneven skin tone Blackheads Enlarged pores Visible facial hair
  • SHOULD I TRY DERMAPLANING AT HOME?
Dermaplaning is not shaving and it is not a treatment that is intended to be done at home. As it is a form of medical/clinical exfoliation, it should only be performed in a medical spa environment by highly trained aestheticians under the guidance of a medical director. The scalpel used in the clinical setting is often laser-cut, making it sharp enough to cut through ultra-fine vellus hair without irritating hair follicles. A normal machine-cut razor, even a straight-edge, can pull hair from follicles, leading to bumps and, in more severe cases, ingrown hairs. For dermaplaning to achieve its full potential, it should be conducted by a trained professional who knows how to angle the straight-razor properly against the skin so as not to cause scratches or irritation.
  • ARE THERE DERMAPLANING SIDE EFFECTS?
After dermaplaning treatment, the skin is ultra-smooth and, after minor redness resolves, will have a natural healthy glow. Makeup goes effortlessly onto the skin’s silky surface. There are very few side effects associated with dermaplaning and no serious risks as long as treatment is performed by a trained professional. After the noninvasive procedure, the skin may be slightly pink and may feel tight. Some people experience minor flaking as old cells are shed. This normally lasts only a day or two. Moisturizer and sunscreen can help promote optimal results.
  • CAN DERMAPLANING BE COMBINED WITH OTHER PROCEDURES?
Yes. Dermaplaning can be combined with other mild procedures. A huge client favorite, our dermaplaning facial with peel treatment removes surface dead skin cells and peach fuzz to clear the way for a custom peel or enzyme to be applied. Dermaplaning prior to peel or enzyme application allows those peel/enzyme treatments to reach down deeper into the pores to rid your skin of any impurities that may cause future breakouts. This treatment also incorporates the use of LED light therapy, peptides and antioxidant therapy to give your skin a beautiful glowing, refined finish.
  • WHAT IS AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL?
Reduces visible signs of premature aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots, visible veins, and discoloration. IPL is a powerful, virtually pain-free Intense Pulsed Light treatment. It reduces visible signs of premature aging, such as fine lines, sun damage, brown spots, visible veins, and discoloration. Most patients receive 4 to 6 treatments depending on the condition of their skin. Treatments are usually performed every 3 to 4 weeks. FDA approved.
  • WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR IPL SKIN REJUVENATION?
IPL skin rejuvenation may be ideal for people with light to moderately dark skin. Very dark skin tones may not be well-suited to IPL treatment due to the potential risks of pigment changes. This form of skin rejuvenation is appropriate for people with good skin elasticity and complexion who have not recently tanned outdoors or in a tanning bed. If you are interested in a nonsurgical, noninvasive way to refresh your skin, schedule a consultation with us. An experienced provider can help you explore several options and determine which may be best for your goals.
  • WHAT ARE IPL SKIN REJUVENATION ADVANTAGES?
IPL does not damage the skin surface, unlike Erbium and CO2 Laser resurfacing. Therefore, there is virtually no recovery time. Treatments take approximately 30-45 minutes. No downtime, patients can apply makeup before leaving the office and return to work the same day. There is also minimal pain with IPL therefore no anesthetic or pain medications are needed. Any brown spots will become a little browner and will continue to darken for 7 to 10 days following the treatment. (This darkening can be covered with makeup) These darkening spots will literally rise to the surface of your skin and flake off.
  • IPL PHOTOFACIAL BEFORE & AFTER
  • HOW DOES IPL SKIN REJUVENATION WORK?
The IPL skin treatment delivers high-intensity pulses of broadband light that is different from the narrowband light of lasers. IPL, which stands for intense pulsed light, is non-ablative, meaning it does not damage the surface of the skin. The intense light is delivered to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis) and leaves the superficial aspect of the skin (epidermis) untouched. IPL treatments target brown spots, vascular lesions such as spider veins and vascular birthmarks, pigmented lesions such as melasma and age spots. The thermal effect of IPL also causes the production of new collagen. From this collagen stimulation process, you will feel a significant difference in the tightness and softness of your skin and a remarkable improvement in fine lines and wrinkles.
  • WHAT CONDITIONS CAN BE TREATED WITH IPL SKIN REJUVENATION?
The purpose of Intense Pulsed Light treatments is to produce smoother, more even, younger-looking skin. It does this by correcting various skin conditions, such as: · Photoaging and sun damage · Freckles and lentigos · Telangiectasia, visible red blood vessels · Rosacea · Skin discoloration or mottled pigment · Melasma · IPL can be performed on the face, neck, chest, back, arms, hands, and other areas.
  • WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL TREATMENT SESSION?
Many people are concerned that IPL treatment will hurt. A provider can use a topical numbing cream to decrease sensations during the procedure. If a topical cream is used, it stays on the skin for approximately 30 minutes. After the cream is removed, a cool gel is applied to the skin. The IPL applicator is then placed on the skin in a stamping motion, delivering a series of pulses across the treatment area. Both the provider and the client wear protective goggles until treatment is complete.
  • WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS FROM IPL SKIN REJUVENATION?
Improvements may be seen approximately one week after each IPL treatment. Because IPL works by increasing collagen production in the dermis, the effects of each session are cumulative. About 3 to 5 months after a series of treatments, results should reach their peak. The changes in the skin may vary from one treatment to another. The energy delivered during each session may increase as needed to continue progressing toward younger, more vibrant skin.
  • HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Collagen is a vital protein that is necessary for the skin to look firm, smooth, and clear. IPL treatments can help repair damaged collagen fibers and stimulate the production of new collagen. How long the results of treatment last depends on how well collagen can be maintained. A healthy diet promotes collagen retention. Good sun care habits such as avoiding tanning and wearing broad-spectrum sunscreen can extend the effects of this treatment. Annual touch-ups can assist with continued improvements.
  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECOVER AFTER AN IPL PHOTOFACIAL?
The skin may appear slightly red for a few days after IPL treatment. This should not interfere with most day to day activities. However, we would not suggest an IPL Photofacial right before an important event. Makeup can be applied right after this procedure, though it should be done gently and removed well before bed. It is important to plan for the darkening and flaking of age spots and freckles after an IPL Photofacial. This can occur over 3 to 10 days. The spots may look and feel rough and may crust. They should not be picked or scratched. Within about 2 weeks the skin’s renewal process should be complete and all side effects should be resolved.
  • CAN THE IPL PHOTOFACIAL BE COMBINED WITH OTHER PROCEDURES?
Minimally invasive procedures often go well together and can enhance the outcome of a customized treatment plan. We have several options to choose from, including professional facial services, microneedling, and the Venus Lift.
  • WHAT SHOULD I DO DIRECTLY AFTER MY IPL PHOTOFACIAL?
Your skin may feel slightly sensitive after IPL treatments. There are several ways to promote fast and comfortable healing, including: · Avoiding sun exposure and wearing SPF 30 sunscreen every day. · Keeping cool by avoiding hot tubs, hot baths and showers, and saunas for several days. · Refraining from wearing makeup for 12 hours after treatment. · Using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer each day. · Avoiding picking or scratching the skin as pigmented spots darken and peel off. · Avoiding potential irritants such as alpha-hydroxy acid, Retina-A, and retinoic acid. · Waiting at least one week before exfoliating, either mechanical or chemical.
  • IS LASER SKIN REJUVENATION SAFE?
IPL treatments have been safely performed around the world for several years. There are risks involved due to the depositing of heat in the dermis. These include swelling, blisters, and scarring. For the safest, more efficient procedure, you should seek IPL treatment only from a licensed, trained professional.
  • IS THE IPL PHOTOFACIAL BETTER THAN OTHER FORMS OF SKIN REJUVENATION?
Various cosmetic treatments offer unique advantages. The IPL Photofacial is beneficial because it can access deeper layers of tissue with gentle energy, so it keeps redness and irritation to a minimum. IPL light therapy is less intense than laser light therapy, which allows clients to get back to normal activities more quickly. Most people can return to work one to two days after IPL, versus a week or more after more intense laser skin resurfacing. It isn’t that IPL Photofacial treatment is better than other forms of skin rejuvenation; it’s that it may be better for you.
  • WHAT ARE IPL SKIN REJUVENATION DISADVANTAGES?
Given that there is little damage to the skin surface, several treatments may be required to see the desired effect. Typically, 3-6 treatments, spaced 3 weeks apart, are needed. Side effects can include transient redness which is relieved with a cold compress and subsides quickly. Avoidance of sun exposure is needed.
  • HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We recommend starting with 3 to 6 TriBella treatments for optimal results depending on skin condition. Each treatment is scheduled approximately 4 to 5 weeks apart. After the treatment package has been completed, your provider will re-evaluate your skin's needs. We encourage all TriBella patients to take advantage of our discounted post-laser follow-up treatments to be scheduled approximately 7 days after each TriBella session to help further your results. You will see some results after the treatment series is complete, but full, best results are visible approximately three months after the last session. The team at Timeless Rejuvenation and Southeastern Medicine Solutions will help you develop your own customized program to ensure you achieve your desired results and continue to enjoy your more youthful appearance for years to come.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? IS IT PAINFUL?
Each TriBella session takes approximately one to one-and-a-half hours. The applicators have cooling features built in that are designed to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, but because the skin is stimulated throughout the treatment, you may still experience some minor pain. Timeless Rejuvenation and Southeastern Medicine Solutions also uses a zimmer device, a separate cold air machine frequently used to minimize any pain or thermal discomfort patients may experience. Talk to your treatment provider about how to best minimize any discomfort during treatment.
  • WHAT DOES TRIBELLA FEEL LIKE?
Each part of the procedure feels different. The photofacial treatment may feel like a light snap against your skin. The anti-aging treatment will be warm, and most patients consider it very comfortable. However, the skin resurfacing treatment comes after the skin has already been heavily stimulated, and is thus more sensitive, meaning this treatment may be less comfortable than the other two; you may feel a pricking sense of heat as the applicator moves around on your skin. After treatment, your skin may feel warm (like a sunburn) and can remain red for up to a few days. Be sure to follow instructions for before and after your treatment.
  • DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Make sure your skin is clean. Do not use any lotions, creams, or makeup before your session, and stop using any products that might irritate your skin 2 to 3 days before your treatment. You must also avoid tanning, including self-tanners throughout the treatment process. Remove all jewelry in treatment areas prior to your appointment.
  • WHAT DO I DO AFTER MY TREATMENT?
We recommend using sun protection of SPF 30 or greater, beginning 24-48 hours after the skin has fully healed. Direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial sunless tanning lotions are not allowed during the course of the treatment and healing. Avoiding direct sun exposure should become a permanent component of your long-term skincare program. You should also avoid hot baths, massages, or any treatment that requires direct contact with the skin for the first 2 to 3 days after your treatment.
  • HOW SOON CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER TRIBELLA SESSIONS?
Avoid applying anything to the face aside from what’s recommended. Timeless Rejuvenation offers Jane Iredale makeup, known as the "skincare makeup" because it is safe to use after laser treatments. Our team will be able to assist you in finding your perfect shade match. As always, per your treatment instructions, be sure to apply sun protection.
  • I HAVE DARKER SKIN - CAN I GET TRIBELLA TREATMENTS?
TriBella™ consists of three treatments—photofacial, anti-aging, and skin resurfacing. Photofacials are powered by Intense Pulsed Light technology, which targets the pigment in your skin. They tend to work best for light to medium skin tones, because the heightened stimulation poses a greater risk of discoloration to patients with more pigment in their skin. Darker skin types may be candidates for the treatments separately, but not necessarily together in one session. It’s best to consult with your treatment provider to see if the treatment is right for you.
  • WHAT CAUSES STRETCH MARKS?
Stretch marks occur when an area of skin is stretched too much, too quickly. This could occur during a growth spurt in adolescence, during pregnancy, or by gaining a significant amount of weight. In such instances, the collagen strands that make up the middle layer of the skin can break. Stretched, broken collagen strands allow underlying blood vessels to show, which is why young stretch marks often look purple or red. Over time, they fade to silver or white, but they rarely disappear completely.
  • WHAT DO STRETCH MARKS LOOK LIKE?
The streaky lines on the skin formed by broken collagen may appear red, purple, or pink at first. Over time, they fade to a lighter color but may still look blue, purple, or silver. These rippled streaks may be seen on various areas of the body, including the: · Stomach · Hips · Thighs · Buttocks · Shoulders · Back · Arms · Breasts
  • HOW ARE STRETCH MARKS TREATED?
Every patient has different degrees of stretch marks. We will carefully determine what treatment option(s) will be the best for you. In most cases, we will use a combination of treatment modalities to retexturize, bring back color, and improve the overall improvement of the area. The number of treatment sessions depends on the individual and typically varies between 4 & 8 treatments, every 4 to 6 weeks.
  • WHAT ARE MY TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR STRETCH MARKS?
People have sought successful treatment options for stretch marks for many years. Techniques for improving the appearance of the skin range from prevention strategies to surgery. · Some topical products, such as cocoa butter and various oils, have been used to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. Though pampering to the skin, these products have not been proven effective at their goal. This is because stretch marks originate in the middle layer of the skin, where topical products cannot reach. · Medical grade skin creams such as Retin-A have been used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Retin-A contains a small percentage of tretinoin (retinoic acid), which is an exfoliant. This treatment was found to slightly improve the appearance of early stretch marks in one study but has not shown efficacy in older stretch marks or more severe striation. · Body lift surgeries like a tummy tuck or thigh lift can improve or eliminate stretch marks. This technique works by trimming the excess skin that has stretched during pregnancy or other life events. There is no guarantee that surgery can completely remove stretch marks but lift procedures have achieved very nice results in many patients. · Laser stretch mark treatments are a newer innovation in aesthetic medicine, falling between topical solutions and surgery. Laser treatments permeate the uppermost layer of the skin to reach the depth at which collagen has been damaged. Studies have shown that, because laser energy heats the dermis, treatments stimulate the production of healthy new collagen to repair damage and reduce concerns like stretch marks.
  • HOW EFFECTIVE ARE STRETCH MARK REMOVAL TREATMENTS?
When it comes to laser stretch mark treatments, heating is healing. Delivering precise wavelengths of light beyond the epidermis stimulates two repair responses. Initially, heat causes the damaged, stretched collagen matrix in the middle layer of skin to contract. This tightening can reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The influx of new collagen continues to rebuild the middle layer of skin, replacing the visible stretched scars with more resilient skin cells.
  • ARE STRETCH MARK TREATMENTS PAINFUL?
Comfort is a priority during all laser and light treatments. For small areas of stretch marks, treatment may be completed in just a few minutes with sensations like tiny pinpricks or tingling. The skin may also feel warm. In some areas or where there are many stretch marks to treat, a numbing cream may be applied beforehand. This needs to remain on the skin for approximately half an hour to desensitize nerves and minimize sensations for the duration of the treatment.
  • HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
The results of professional stretch mark removal are expected to be permanent. This may require a series of treatments or occasional touch-ups depending on the condition of the skin.
  • HOW LONG IS RECOVERY AFTER STRETCH MARK TREATMENT?
There is no need for downtime after stretch mark treatment. Patients can expect mild to moderate redness along with warmth or stinging, similar to a sunburn, for a few hours after laser or light therapy. This is because energy has been absorbed in the middle layer of the skin. If this becomes uncomfortable, cool compresses can be applied. Mild swelling can also occur but is not painful. If swelling develops, it should fade within a few days. No lotion or other products should be applied to the treated area until all redness and stinging have resolved.
  • CAN YOU REDUCE THE APPEARANCE OF SCARS?
Yes. We used an advanced, non-surgical solution to reduce all types of scars - including surgery scars, acne scars and some trauma scars. Nano Fractional Radio Frequency technology is clinically proven to effectively reduce scars, diminish redness, improve texture, and correct pigment. We also customize our treatments w/ added IPL if needed.

Katrina's plan has me on the way to turning back the clock on my skin. Love my results every time she works on me!
